Welcome to the Story Mill podcast series – Thriving Beyond Stress & Burnout. In this episode, Claire Taylor talks with Kim Kaase – a Transformative Business Coach.
Kim was ambitious from an early age and believed that giving ‘everything’ to her job was the only way to achieve her goals. Her work became all-consuming as she worked 12-13 hour days.
Kim’s evenings and weekends were spent recovering from her busy week, leaving little energy left for her family. In an industry that continuously moved faster and faster Kim kept driving herself to keep up.
She also shouldered all the responsibility while passing all the credit for successes to her teams.
The irony was that Kim was placing all this pressure on herself.
Eventually, Kim’s health was impacted by her total focus on work and lack of self-care. After a couple of emergency trips to the hospital, she began to realise that the pressure cooker she was working in was unsustainable.
The last straw came when a contract that she and her teams had worked on for months never materialised.
Kim had an epiphany and knew it was time to change.
She left her corporate job and started to build a coaching practice. It wasn’t easy to shift from her fast-paced life to one that was more balanced, peaceful and successful.
It was only when Kim discovered a new understanding about life, that everything fundamentally changed for her. The new perspective also changed her coaching practice and is now at the heart of her transformative coaching approach.
Listen to Kim’s story in our podcast conversation below and find out what she discovered and how she now helps her clients to transform their businesses and lives.
